Shows to Watch if You Miss Traveling

It’s been over a year since this perpendicular started, so I know you miss traveling. And I know you’ve been daydreaming about where you want to travel to next, so here are some shows to binge watch in the meantime. Whether you’re looking to immerse yourself in a new language and a good story or just some good views, Netflix has a ton of options for you.

1. Call My Agent!

Either dust off your high school French class studies or fire up those subtitles, because this show is set in Paris. It’s about a talent agency, the people who work there, and the actors they represent. There’s love drama, work drama, and it is wildly entertaining. If you know a lot of French actors, you’ll definitely see some familiar faces.

2. Lupin

This show stars Omar Sy as Assane Diop, a man determined to avenge his late father who died in jail, where he was serving time for a crime he did not commit. This is another show in French and you’ll be hooked immediately, but don’t worry because there’s a season two on the way!

3. Derry Girls

This Netflix Original is set in Ireland in the 80s. Not only will it feel like an escape to another country, it’ll feel like an escape to another time. Plus, it’ll be like a fun flashback to your high school years and all the things that felt like the end of the world when you were that age.

4. Salt Fat Acid Heat

This show is for all of you who are missing the food you got to experience when you were able to travel. The fun part about this show is that after watching Samin Nosrat travel around the world and cook delicious meals, you can try and recreate them at home. (Or find a local restaurant that offers delivery of some similar dishes— no judgement.)

5. Money Heist

This show isn’t exactly the sort of show you watch and think “I’d love to be there right now,” because it’s about a heist (if the title didn’t already tip you off) and we do not need that stress right now. But if you’re wanting to brush up on your Spanish while you’re waiting to travel again, this is such a gripping show.

6. Our Planet: Behind the Scenes

This is for everyone who is just missing the views from… anywhere but your living room. In this Netflix Original, David Attenborough narrates some gorgeous scenes in nature from around the whole world.
