14 Apps To Add To Your Self-Care Routine

As good as it can be to disconnect from your phone, it’s amazing the number of tools we have access to on them. Instead of sitting on Instagram and scrolling through a bunch of accounts you’re hate-following (also, stop that!), use your phone to support your mental health and self-care routine.

Meditation

  1. Prezence. These guided audio meditations will help you practice mindfulness. You can decide whether you have time for a 2 minute meditation or a 15 minute meditation.

  2. Mesmerize. Meditation can take many forms. This app offers visual meditations, which is perfect for people who feel like audio alone doesn’t do anything for them.

Habits

  1. HabitMinder. This habit-tracking app will help you reinforce good habits in your daily routine. You can track everything from hydration to physical activity.

  2. Fabulous. (Just like you.) This app lets you set which habits to track and will also send push notifications. It’s perfect for people who need to be motivated throughout the day.

Reflection

  1. Reflectly. This journaling app gives you prompts that are generated by AI. It offers morning quotes and challenges and gives you overviews of patterns in your entries.

  2. Pond - Self Care Journal. The goal of this app is to reinforce journaling as a daily habit. You can use it for guided exercises and prompts or simply keep track of what happened today.

Sleep

  1. Rise: Sleep & Energy Tracker. This app will not only keep track of how much sleep you get, but it will also use that information to tell you when you’ll have the most energy that day.

  2. Relax Melodies: Sleep Sounds. This is my favorite app! And if you need noise machines, music, soundscapes, or ASMR to get a good night’s sleep, this app will give you the best night’s sleep ever.

Affirmations

  1. Mantra - Daily Affirmations. Positive affirmations on pretty backgrounds? Yes, sign everyone up please. This app offers a new affirmation every day and you can easily share them on your IG stories as well.

  2. Mindful Affirmations. Sometimes we need to hear our affirmations out loud. And sometimes we need to hear them over and over. This app helps you do that.

Activity

  1. Stepz. This app is super simple— it tracks your daily steps on your phone (because we all know we rarely go anywhere without our phones).

  2. 7 Minute Workout. If you want to be a bit more active than just tracking your steps, you can do mini workouts every day. All of these workouts are only 7 minutes long.

Mood

  1. Sanvello: Anxiety & Depression. More than just mood-tracking and meditation, this app also offers a community of support as well as 1:1 coaching and access to licensed therapists.

  2. Shine: Calm Anxiety & Stress.Target your anxiety and stress with this app, which was created by women of color and focuses on the mental health of marginalized groups.
